Hook-up Spots (That hallowed spot where everyone hangs around with their mates dreaming of the time when they can get into the pubs or clubs - a bench, a corner: you name it.)

  • tellytubby land innit brah. or bunnyland safe right yea, safe
  • The park in Palace Avenue leading up from the centre of town to Winner Street is a great place to relax, with its trees, shrubs and flower beds, with many park benches.
  • Nowhere in Paignton cuz the townies trashed the skate ramp and the council wont let us build another one.
  • this sucks!
  • NOT outside the miltiplex....the managers give you too much of a hard time, not worth it!
  • On the A380 (ring road) bottom of Kings Ash Road- number 98! Great Parks Chapel is open twice every wek in addition to the Sunday Services at 10.30 am and 6.30 pm. Open Church is Tuesday 2-4pm and Thursday 10-12 noon. We are an evangelical church and are here "to help people become children of God, enjoy growing devotion to Jesus Christ and live in the power of the Holy Spirit.
  • Why did they deomlish the Gurston
  • Paignton gets surf! You can surf Paignton beach on a stiff wind out of a generally easterly direction. Not very often, but it does happen. Best place is off the pier, or at the Gasworks on the way to Torquay. You can get wax and stuff at Harbour Sports by the harbour (no!) but they are expensive, and don't do board hire. Friendly locals, but easterlies are cold, especially in winter, and easterlies also bring all the sewage from the outfalls at Torquay and Brixham back in, so don't swallow anything.

What is Knowhere?

The Knowhere Guide started out as a list of places to skateboard in the UK. It is a compilation of (unedited) information and views supplied by users like yourself. It is not a conventional tourist guide!

In most cases, the information in each section has been submitted by more than one contributor (the credits at the bottom of the page list some, but not all, of the contributors) and some of it dates back to the 1970s.

We make no claims as to the accuracy of the information in the Guide - our only purpose is to provide a forum for users to share their knowledge and opinions. So please keep a large bag of salt handy and be prepared to read between the lines!

If you disagree with a comment, or information is out of date, please submit an update! The contributors come from all walks of life, and their opinions are bound to be subjective, so if your view isn't represented, please speak up and contribute to the balance of the Guide. See below in the 'Have Your Say' section for how to add your voice.

If we have helped you out or made you laugh you can buy us a pint.

Have Your Say...

The Knowhere Guide depends entirely on real users for information. Please feel free to join in.

You can tell us more about Paignton. This is also the method to use if you want to correct some of the information already here. (But please remember you're not mailing the person who actually wrote whatever-it-is.)

You can use the add an event form to tell us about events happening in Paignton.

Or, if you'd just like to leave a message for other users of this site, take a look at The Knowhere Board (handy if you're just trying to get in touch with someone).
